NURSING SERVICES

 

(ER): REGISTERED NURSE: (PRN): EMERGENCY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BCLS and ACLS certification required, TNCC preferred. Minimum one year ER experience. 

Work Schedule - Varied PRN

 

 (OB): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME/PRN): OBSTETRICS

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BCLS and ACLS certification require. Minimum one year OB experience preferred.

Work Schedule - Full-Time 7a-7p/7p-7a and PRN Varied shifts

 (GPU): REGISTERED NURSE: (PRN): GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU)

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse provides nursing knowledge and skills to assess and monitor patient's physical/mental status and educates patients and/or family/caregivers as needed.  RN will communicate with patient's physicians as needed based on patient assessment and treatment plan.  RN will assist as directed by LCSW in providing therapeutic groups for GPU patients as clinically appropriate.  RN will also assist in program management responsibilities as directed by the Director.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BSN degree or experienced RN in mental health with ADN degree and current CPR certification.  Two years work experience in mental health and working knowledge of federal/state regulatory standards regarding mental health services.

Work Schedule -PRN varied shifts 

 

CLINICAL SUPPORT SERVICES

(CT): CAT SCAN TECH: (PRN): IMAGING SERVICES

Position Summary - The CAT Scan Tech is responsible for performing patient examinations and related activities in accordance with established protocols, demonstrates knowledge of digital environment, reviews images prior to archiving to PACS and for submission to radiologists for interpretation, maintains patient records; assures the correct patient is being imaged in accordance to hospital protocols, performs QA/QC on equipment, maintains stocks/supplies, starts IV's and/or administers contrast as needed; demonstrates appropriate computer skills and has knowledge of the Radiation Safety ALARA principles and practices.

Qualifications - Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology required.  One year preferred as a staff technologist.  CT scanning experience preferred.  Registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.  Certified in CT preferred.  Must have current MS license.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - PRN, varied shifts.

(MRI): MRI TECH: (PRN): MRI SERVICES

(LAB): MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN: (FULL-TIME/PRN): LABORATORY

Position Summary - The MLT is responsible for accurately performing tests and submitting results in a timely manner following all laboratory procedures; maintains and complies with QC Westguard Rules; provides proper documentation on any deviation; performs phlebotomies as needed; performs inventory control; complies with specimen labeling requirements; troubleshoots instrument or procedure failure to resolution, including reporting and documenting failures.

Qualifications - Associate Degree, Medical Laboratory Technician.  Current ASCAP or equivalent license.  Current CPR certification.  One year experience as a MLT preferred.

Work Schedule - Varied Shifts Full-Time and Varied Shifts PRN 

(ICU): CRITICAL CARE TECH : (FULL-TIME/PRN): INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

Position Summary - The Critical Care Tech performs under the direct supervision of the RN in ICU and is delegated assignments to achieve quality patient care; is involved in the implementation phase of the nursing process and is directly accountable to the Patient Care Director.  The Tech performs tasks assigned by the RN is an assistant role; these tasks require special training and competency validation through the education department.  In addition, the Tech must be able to perform nurse aide duties if the RN dictates.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED.  Must successfully pass the HCH Critical Care Tech Competency Test within 90 days of hire.   Critical Care Tech experience or Monitor certification preferred; or a minimum one year experience as Nurse Aide/Acute Care Tech.  BLS certification required.

Work Schedule - 7p-7a and 7a-7p Full-Time 

(MS): UNIT SECRETARY: (PRN): MEDICAL SURGICAL SERVICES

Position Summary - The Unit Secretary is responsible for assisting with personal care to patients under the supervision of nursing staff; participates in support service functions of the nursing unit, i.e., answering phones, running errands, transporting patients, paperwork, filing and assisting staff members.

Qualifications - High School graduate.  One year Unit Secretarial experience in acute care preferred.  Current CPR certification.  Must be able to multi-task.

Work Schedule - 7A-5P and weekends PRN 

(RESP): REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST: (FULL-TIME): RESPIRATORY

Position Summary - The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for the performance of all therapeutic and diagnostic procedures available through the department; the RRT should have a complete understanding of the equipment, supplies and medications; indications and contraindications for their use, and physiological effects upon the patient.  The RRT will be responsible for monitoring, charting, reporting quality assurance, quality control and reporting of the patient's response to therapy; the RRT must be able to properly assess and evaluate for the appropriate respiratory care plan.

Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited Respiratory School.  Current MS Respiratory license, current Respiratory Therapist registry, current BCLS certification.  ACLS, PALS certification recommended.

Work Schedule - 7p-7a Full-Time 

(MS): ACUTE CARE TECH: (FULL-TIME): MEDICAL SURGICAL SERVICES

Position Summary - The Acute Care Tech is responsible for providing personal care to patients under the superivsion of nursing staff; participates in support functions of the nursing unit, i.e., answering phones, running errands, transporting patients.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Prefer one year of acute care tech or C.N.A. experience.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - 7p-7a Full-Time

(OB): SR OR TECH: (PRN): OBSTETRICS

Position Summary - The Sr. OR Tech is responsibile for providing safe and effective care to patients under the superivsion of nursing during the intraoperative period.  Participates in support functions of the nursing unit, i.e., cleaning equipment, answering phones, running errands, transporting patients and scheduling cases.

Qualifications - Graduate of a surgical tech school.  Certified Surgical Tech.  At least one year OR Tech experience.  Prefer experience in OB.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - 7p-7a PRN

  

SUPPORT SERVICES

(EVS): ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TECH: (PRN): ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

Position Summary - The Environmental Services Tech performs cleaning and trash removal functions, carpet and hard surface maintenance in all areas of the hospital on a routine basis; maintains equipment in clean, working condition; demonstrates knowledge of proper use of chemicals and other supplies; will be responsible for moving furniture and equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers/shampooers, aide carts and be exposed to various types of chemicals.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.  One year previous work experience experience required.  Previous experience in housekeeping preferred.
