NURSING SERVICES

 

(NUR): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME): OBSTETRICS

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, ACLS and NALS certifications required within six months of employment.

Work Schedule - 7p-7a Full-Time

(ER-RN): REGISTERED NURSE: (PRN): EMERGENCY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, ACLS certification, TNCC preferred. Minimum one year ER experience preferred.

Work Schedule -  PRN varied shifts

(MED-SURG): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME): MEDICAL SURGICAL SERVICES

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, ACLS certification. Minimum one year experience prefererd.

Work Schedule -  Full-Time 7A-7P

 

(GPU): REGISTERED NURSE: (PRN): GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU)

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse provides nursing knowledge and skills to assess and monitor patient's physical/mental status and educates patients and/or family/caregivers as needed.  RN will communicate with patient's physicans as needed based on patient assessment and treatment plan.  RN will assist as directed by LCSW in providing therapeutic groups for GPU patients as clinically appropriate.  RN will also assist in program management responsibilities as directed by the Director.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BSN degree or experienced RN in mental health with ADN degree and current CPR certification.  Two years work experience in mental health and working knowledge of federal/state regulatory standards regarding mental health services.

Work Schedule - PRN varied shifts

 

CLINICAL SUPPORT SERVICES

 

(MS-ACT):ACUTE CARE TECH: (FULL-TIME/PRN): MEDICAL SURGICAL

Position Summary - The Acute Care Tech is responsible for providing personal care to patients under the supervision of nursing staff.  Participates in support functions of the nursing unit, i.e., answering phones, running errands, transporting patients.  Must attain/maintain skills applicable to primary area of assignment.

Qualifications -  High school diploma or GED equivalent, college courses preferred.  One year Acute Care Tech experience in an acute care or clinic setting preferred.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - Full-Time 7A-7P/7P-7A and Varied Shifts PRN/7p-7a PRN

(GPU): MENTAL HEALTH TECH: (FULL-TIME): GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRIC UNIT

Position Summary - The Mental Health Tech must have the ability to work therapeutically in a community of emotionally and/or chemically dependent patients; observing patients and maintaining patient safety, assisting patients with activities of daily living, both physical and emotional and with meeting team objectives; performs activity groups, assist with admission and discharge processes and suports safety and well-being of the patients; facilitates didactic groups established and implemented to meet the needs of the psychiatric/CD population.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Two years experience in mental health or healthcare setting.

Work Schedule - Full-Time 7a-7p

(ICU): CRITICAL CARE TECH (MONITOR TECH): (FULL-TIME/PRN): INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

Position Summary - The Critical Care Tech (Monitor Tech) performs under the direct supervision of the RN in ICU and is delegated assignments to achieve quality patient care; is involved in the implementation phase of the nursing process and is directly accountable to the Patient Care Director of the unit.  The Tech performs tasks assigned by the RN in an assistant role; these tasks require special training and competency validation through the education department.  In addition, the Tech must be able to perform nurse aide duties if the RN dictates.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Must be a certified Monitor Tech.  Previous nurse aide or acute care tech experience.  Must pass a monitor skills test.  BCLS, and basic coronary care certification required.

Work Schedule - 7a-7p full-time and PRN varied shifts

(OB CLINIC): MEDICAL ASSISTANT: (FULL-TIME): OB CLINIC

Position Summary - The Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining and assisting with charts and records; handling phone calls, daily filing, opening/closing charts, making copies of patient information; assisting with precerting, patient referrals, seating patients in exam rooms; filling in when the receptionist is out; assists with routine courier runs as well as to meet field staff to pick up and deliver supplies; responsible for scheduled physician order runs; posting charges and payments; runs computer reports; assists with patient care and performs other duties as assigned by the physician.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Associates of Science Degree preferred. Must be familiar with reading and understanding ICD-9 and HCPCS Codes.   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   Ability to muti task.  Minimum one year clinic experience required.

(CT): CAT SCAN TECH: (FULL-TIME/PRN): IMAGING SERVICES

Position Summary - The CAT Scan Tech is responsible for performing patient examinations and related activities in accordance with established protocols, demonstrates knoweledge of digital environment, reviews images prior to archiving to PACS and for submission to radiologists for interpretation, maintains patient records; assures the correct patient is being imaged in accordance to hospital protocols, performs QA/QC on equipment, maintains stocks/supplies, starts IV's and/or administers contrast as needed; demonstrates appropriate computer skills and has knowledge of the Radiation Safety ALARA principles and practices.

Qualifications - Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology required.  One year preferred as a staff technologist.  CT scanning experience preferred.  Registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.  Certified in CT preferred.  Must have current MS license.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - Full-Time Days and PRN, varied shifts.

(RESP): REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (RRT): (PRN): RESPIRATORY THERAPY

Position Summary - The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the performance of all therapeutic and diagnostic procedures available through the department.  The therapist should have a complete understanding of the equipment, supplies and medications.  Indications and contraindications for their use, and physiological effects upon the patient.  The therapist will be responsible for monitoring, charting, reporting quality assurance, quality control and reporting patient's response to therapy.  Therapist must be able to properly assess and evaluate the patients for the appropriate respiratory care plan.

Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited respiratory school.  At least two years experience as a respiratory therapist preferred.  Current Mississippi respiratory license.  Current BCLS certification.  NALS/PALS/ACLS certification recommended.  Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Work Schedule - PRN varied shifts, days

 

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 

(GPU): LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER (LCSW): (PART-TIME): GERIATRIC PYSCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU)

Position Summary - The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) under the direction of the program psychiatrist provides pyscholgical assessments of patients and families to identify emotional, social and environmental strengths and problems related to their diagnosis, illness, treatment, and/or life situation.

Qualifications - Master or Doctor Degree in Social Work, licensed or certified as a clinical social worker by the State of Mississippi and have performed at least two years of supervised clinical social work.

Work Schedule - Days, Part-Time

(HIM): MANAGER: (FULL-TIME/EXEMPT): HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

Position Summary - The Manager of Health Information Management is responsible for all functions related to the Health Information Management Department working in an administrative, financial and clinical capacity relative to the implementation and monitoring of systems necessary for the Health Information Management Services; provides leadership in the hospital's enterprise document imaging and electronic health record systems and operations. 

Qualifications - At minimum, an associates degree in Health Information is required.  Excellent oral and written skills are a must.  Certification in a health information related field is required (RHIA, RHIT, CCS).  A minimum of three years experience in health information management leadership is required.  Experience in electronic health record management is required.  Must have a working knowledge and experience with information systems management, health information management and revenue cycle functions.

Work Schedule - Full-Time, Exempt

 

SUPPORT SERVCIES

(EVS): EVS TECH: (PRN): ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

Position Summary - The EVS Tech is responsible for cleaning and trash removal functions, carpet and hard surface maintenance, in all areas of the hospital on a routine and project basis; maintains equipment in a clean working condition, demonstrates knowledge of proper use of chemicals and other supplies; moving furniture and equipment such as floor scrubbers/shampooers, carts, etc., and be exposed to various types of chemicals. 

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.  One year previous work experience required.  Previous experience in housekeeping or healthcare field preferred.

Work Schedule - PRN, varied days, 3:30p-Midnight
