NURSING SERVICES

(NUR): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME): OBSTETRICS

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, ACLS and NALS certifications required within six months of employment.

Work Schedule - 7p-7a Full-Time

(MS): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME/PRN): MED SURG

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BCLS and ACLS certification required.  Minimum one year experience preferred. 

Work Schedule - Full-Time Varied and Varied shifts PRN (.45 FTE) PRN

(ER): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME/PRN): EMERGENCY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BCLS and ACLS certification required, TNCC preferred. Minimum one year ER experience. 

Work Schedule - 2p-2a Full-Time and Varied shifts PRN

(GPU): REGISTERED NURSE: (PRN): GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU)

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse provides nursing knowledge and skills to assess and monitor patient's physical/mental status and educates patients and/or family/caregivers as needed.  RN will communicate with patient's physicians as needed based on patient assessment and treatment plan.  RN will assist as directed by LCSW in providing therapeutic groups for GPU patients as clinically appropriate.  RN will also assist in program management responsibilities as directed by the Director.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BSN degree or experienced RN in mental health with ADN degree and current CPR certification.  Two years work experience in mental health and working knowledge of federal/state regulatory standards regarding mental health services.

Work Schedule -PRN varied shifts 

CLINICAL SUPPORT SERVICES

(CT): CAT SCAN TECH: (PRN): IMAGING SERVICES

Position Summary - The CAT Scan Tech is responsible for performing patient examinations and related activities in accordance with established protocols, demonstrates knoweledge of digital environment, reviews images prior to archiving to PACS and for submission to radiologists for interpretation, maintains patient records; assures the correct patient is being imaged in accordance to hospital protocols, performs QA/QC on equipment, maintains stocks/supplies, starts IV's and/or administers contrast as needed; demonstrates appropriate computer skills and has knowledge of the Radiation Safety ALARA principles and practices.

Qualifications - Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology required.  One year preferred as a staff technologist.  CT scanning experience preferred.  Registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.  Certified in CT preferred.  Must have current MS license.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - PRN, varied shifts.

(MRI): MRI TECH: (PRN): MRI SERVICES

(LAB): PHLEBOTOMIST: (FULL-TIME): LABORATORY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Phlebotomist is responsible for receivng and processing all patients including but not limited to preparing all necessary paperwork accurately and timely; collects specimens accurately and timely, prepares accurate lab specimens for testing, files reports, reports results timely, assists personnel with any problems/concerns that might arise regarding results, paperwork or response times and assists with any overdue lab results.

Qualifications - High School Dipolma or GED equivalent.  Phlebotomy certification preferred or at least two years clinical Phlebotomy experience.  Minimum one year experience as a Phlebotomy with certification.

Work Schedule - Days Full-Time

(RESP): REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST: (PRN): RESPIRATORY THERAPY

Position Summary - The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the performance of all therapeutic and diagnostic procedures available through the department; has a complete understanding of all equipment, supplies and medications, indications and contraindications for their use and physiological effectis upon the patient; monitors, charts, reports quality assurance/quality control and patient's response to therapy; must be able to properly assess and evaluate patients for the appropriate respiratory care plan.

Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited Respiratory program.  Current MS respiratory license. Current registry certification, BCLS required; ACLS, NALS certifications preferred.

Work Schedule - 7a-7p PRN

(MS): ACUTE CARE TECH: (PRN): MEDICAL SURGICAL

Position Summary - The Acute Care Tech is responsible for providing personal care to patients under the supervision of nursing staff; participates in support functions of the nursing unit, i.e., answering phones, running errands, transporting patients.

Qualifications - High School Graduate or GED equivalent.  Prefer one year experience in acute care as an Acute Care Tech.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - Varied PRN

 

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 

(GPU): LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER (LCSW): (PART-TIME): GERIATRIC PYSCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU)

Position Summary - The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) under the direction of the program psychiatrist provides pyscholgical assessments of patients and families to identify emotional, social and environmental strengths and problems related to their diagnosis, illness, treatment, and/or life situation.

Qualifications - Master or Doctor Degree in Social Work, licensed or certified as a clinical social worker by the State of Mississippi and have performed at least two years of supervised clinical social work.

Work Schedule - Days, Part-Time

(PEDCL): MEDICAL ASSISTANT: (FULL-TIME): PEDIATRIC CLINIC

Position Summary - The Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining and assisting with charts and records; handling phone calls, daily filing, opening/closing charts, making copies of patient information, assisting with precerting, patient referrals, seating patients in exam rooms; filling in when the receptionist is out; assists with routine courier runs as well as to meet field staff to pick up and deliver supplies; responsible for scheduled physician order runs; posting charges and payments; runs computer reports; assists with patient care and performs other duties as assigned by the physician.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Associates of Science Degree preferred.  Must be familiar with reading and understanding ICD-9 and HCPCS Codes.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to multi task.  Minimum one year clinic experience preferred.

Work Schedule - Days, Full-Time

(ADMIT): REGISTRAR: (FULL-TIME:) ADMITTING

Position Summary - The Registrar is responsible for performing patient interviews to obtain current, correct information for accuracy in data entry in the computer system; explain hospital policies regarding co-pays, deductibles and self pay accounts; collects necessary payments and obtains the patient's signature on all relevant forms; assigns the patient to the designated room in conjunction with the nursing staff based on the nature of the illness and type of accomodations available or requested.

Qualifications - High School Diploma, business college courses preferred.  At least six months experience in Admitting preferred.  Excellent communication, computer and office machince skills.

Work Schedule - Nights Full-Time

 

 

SUPPORT SERVICES

(DIET): DIETARY AIDE: (PART-TIME): DIETARY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Dietary Aide is responsible for performing a variety of food service duties which include transporting food carts, cleaning carts and equipment, assembling food trays; delivering meal trays, cleaning of servicewares and other assigned tasks.

Qualifications - High School diploma or GED preferred.  Previous dietary experience preferred.

Work Schedule -  Varied shifts days, Part-Time

(PBSF): PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER: (PRN): PUBLIC SAFETY

Position Summary - The Public Safety Officer is responsible for providing customer oriented management of the hospital environment for overall assurance of public safety; performs public safety, law enforcement duties and investigation in the protection of life and property; responsible for prevention of crimes, apprehension of criminals and enforcement of all applicable federal, state and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent, college preferred.  One year or more experience with law enforcement preferred.  Extensive related work experience may substitute for law enforcement experience.  Must have current MS driver's license with no serious driving record, no felony or significant misdemeanor.  Ability to meet Mississippi's Board of Law Enforcement Standards and Training certification requirements.
