NURSING SERVICES

 

 

(OB): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME): OBSTETRICS

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BCLS and ACLS certification required.  Minimum one year OB experience preferred. 

Work Schedule - Full-Time 7a-7p

(ER): REGISTERED NURSE: (PRN): EMERGENCY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BCLS and ACLS certification required, TNCC preferred. Minimum one year ER experience. 

Work Schedule - Varied PRN

(MS): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME/PRN): MEDICAL SURGICAL SERVICES

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BCLS and ACLS certification require. Minimum one year experience preferred.

Work Schedule - 7a-7p Full-Time and Varied shifts PRN

 

 (GPU): REGISTERED NURSE: (PRN): GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU)

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse provides nursing knowledge and skills to assess and monitor patient's physical/mental status and educates patients and/or family/caregivers as needed.  RN will communicate with patient's physicians as needed based on patient assessment and treatment plan.  RN will assist as directed by LCSW in providing therapeutic groups for GPU patients as clinically appropriate.  RN will also assist in program management responsibilities as directed by the Director.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BSN degree or experienced RN in mental health with ADN degree and current CPR certification.  Two years work experience in mental health and working knowledge of federal/state regulatory standards regarding mental health services.

Work Schedule -PRN varied shifts 

 

(GPU): LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE: (PRN): GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU)

Position Summary - The LPN performs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and is delegated an assignment to achieve quality patient care; assists the RN in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct patient care to include patient care documentation, direct observation and patient evaluations.

Qualifications - Graduate of a recognized non-online LPN program.  Current MS LPN license, be certified in an expanded role of an LPN or eligible, current BCLS certification.  Previous work experience preferred.

Work Schedule - Varied Shifts PRN 

 

CLINICAL SUPPORT SERVICES

(CT): CAT SCAN TECH: (PRN): IMAGING SERVICES

Position Summary - The CAT Scan Tech is responsible for performing patient examinations and related activities in accordance with established protocols, demonstrates knoweledge of digital environment, reviews images prior to archiving to PACS and for submission to radiologists for interpretation, maintains patient records; assures the correct patient is being imaged in accordance to hospital protocols, performs QA/QC on equipment, maintains stocks/supplies, starts IV's and/or administers contrast as needed; demonstrates appropriate computer skills and has knowledge of the Radiation Safety ALARA principles and practices.

Qualifications - Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology required.  One year preferred as a staff technologist.  CT scanning experience preferred.  Registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.  Certified in CT preferred.  Must have current MS license.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - PRN, varied shifts.

(MRI): MRI TECH: (PRN): MRI SERVICES

(LAB): MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN: (FULL-TIME/PRN): LABORATORY

Position Summary - The MLT is responsible for accurately performing tests and submitting results in a timely manner following all laboratory procedures; maintains and complies with QC Westguard Rules; provides proper documentation on any deviation; performs phlebotomies as needed; performs inventory control; complies with specimen labeling requirements; troubleshoots instrument or procedure failure to resolution, including reporting and documenting failures.

Qualifications - Associate Degree, Medical Laboratory Technician.  Current ASCAP or equivalent license.  Current CPR certification.  One year experience as a MLT preferred.

Work Schedule - Varied Shifts Full-Time and Varied Shifts PRN

 

(ICU): MONITOR TECH: (FULL-TIME): INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

Position Summary - The Monitor Tech performs under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse on the ICU unit and is delegated assignments by the nurse to achieve quality patient care; performs tasks by the nurse in an assistant role, these tasks require special training and competency validation through the education department; in addition, must be able to perform nurse aide duties if the nurse dictates.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent and must successfully pass the Monitor Tech Class to be certified.  Previous Nurse Aide or Acute Care Tech experience, BCLS certification, Monitor Tech Certification.

Work Schedule - 7a-7p and 7p-7a Full-Time

 

(GPU): MENTAL HEALTH TECH: (PRN): GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU)

Position Summary - The Mental Health Tech partcipates in total direct patient care in a team approach; works therapeutically in a community of emotionally and/or chemical dependent patients; observes patients and maintains patient safety, assists patients with activities of daily living, both physical and emotional, and meets team objectives; performs activity groups, assists with admission and discharge processes and supports the safety and well being of the patients; facilitates diadiactic groups established and implemented to meet the needs of the psychiatric/CD population.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.  Two years experience in mental health or healthcare setting.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - Varied shifts PRN

(PHARM): TECH: (PRN): PHARMACY

Position Summary - The Pharmacy Tech is responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in all duties related to the preparation, gathering, labeling, data entry and distribution of medications; maintains patient care unit drug supply carts, patient crash carts and restocking of routine medications; advises and assists the Pharmacist with the order of new supplies and stocks the Pharmacy with the supplies.

Qualifications - High School Diploma and courses in science or pharmacy.  MS State Board of Pharmacy registration and national certication are required.  BCLS preferred.  Prefer one year of experience in Pharmacy.  Must be able to multi task.

Work Schedule - Varied shifts PRN

(SURG): SURGICAL TECH: SURGERY

Position Summary - The Surgical Tech is responsible for providing safe and effective care to patients under the supervision of nursing staff during the intraoperative period; participates in supportive functions of the nursing unit, i.e., cleaning scopes, answering phones, running errands, transporting patients, scheduling cases.

Qualifications - Graduate of a Surgical Technology School, certified preferred.  Current CPR Level C certification.  Prefer at least one year experience as an Surgical Tech.

Work Schedule - 6:30a-3:00p plus Call

 

 

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 

 

(DIET): REGISTERED DIETITIAN: (FULL-TIME): DIETARY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Registered Dietitian serves as a member of the healthcare team who plans, directs and implements nutritional intervention to patients based on specified assessment criteria; demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient, with awareness of the principles of growth and development and assessment of data reflective of the patient's status to determine specific requirements and needs; collaborates with other healthcare team members to coordinate hospital therapy and plan post discharge care; provides nutrition therapy and education to promote a healthier lifestyle.

Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree and/or advanced degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nutrition, dietetics or food service management to meet the requirements of the American Dietetics Association of qualify for the Dietitian/National Registration Examination.  Mississippi State Board of Health license is required.  Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.  Work experience preferred in a healthcare facility.

Work Schedule - Full-Time Exempt

 

(PEDCL): MEDICAL ASSISTANT: (FULL-TIME): PEDIATRIC CLINIC

Position Summary - The Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining and assisting with charts and records; handling phone calls, daily filing, opening/closing charts, making copies of patient information, assisting with precerting, patient referrals, seating patients in exam rooms; filling in when the receptionist is out; assists with routine courier runs as well as to meet field staff to pick up and deliver supplies; responsible for scheduled physician order runs; posting charges and payments; runs computer reports; assists with patient care and performs other duties as assigned by the physician.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Associates of Science Degree preferred.  Must be familiar with reading and understanding ICD-9 and HCPCS Codes.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to multi task.  Minimum one year clinic experience preferred.

Work Schedule - Days, Full-Time

(RAD): RECEPTIONIST: (FULL-TIME): RADIOLOGY

Position Summary - The Receptionist is responsible for relating to the public in a respectful, positive and pleasant manner.  Must schedule appointments and understand all exams and preparation.  Must write up patient requisitions and include all pertinent information; retrieve patient jackets, prepare inserts and log arriving patients onto daily log sheets.  Must be familiar with the Radworks/PACS system for printing, retrieving and searching the patient database; be able to reload achived patients for printing and interpretation comparision.  Assist technologists  and Radiologists when needed.

Qualifications - High School Graduate or GED Equivalent.  Current CPR certification.  At least one year experience with patient relations or healthcare office work.  Ability to multi-task.

Work Schedule - 8:30a - 5:00p Monday - Friday

(RESP): REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST: (PRN): RESPIRATORY THERAPY

Position Summary - The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for the performance of all therapteutic and diagnostic procedures available through the department; the RRT should have a complete understanding of the equipment, supplies and medications; indications and contraindications for their use, and physiological effects upon the patient.  The RRT will be responsible for monitoring, charting, reporting quality assurance, quality control and reporting of the patient's response to therapy; the RRT must be able to properly assess and evaluate patients for the appropriate respiratory care plan.

Qualifications - Graduate of an accrediated Respiratory School.  Current MS Respiratory license, current Respiratory Therapist registry, current BCLS certification.  PALS, NALS, ACLS cerification recommended.

Work Schedule - Varied shifts PRN

 

SUPPORT SERVICES

 

(PBSF): PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER: (PRN): PUBLIC SAFETY

Position Summary - The Public Safety Officer is responsible for providing customer oriented management of the hospital environment for overall assurance of public safety; performs public safety, law enforcement duties and investigation in the protection of life and property; responsible for prevention of crimes, apprehension of criminals and enforcement of all applicable federal, state and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent, college preferred.  One year or more experience with law enforcement preferred.  Extensive related work experience may substitute for law enforcement experience.  Must have current MS driver's license with no serious driving record, no felony or significant misdemeanor.  Ability to meet Mississippi's Board of Law Enforcement Standards and Training certification requirements.

(DIET): CASHIER: (PRN): DIETARY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Cashier accurately operates the cash register for collection of cash and charges on sold goods; reconciles/records monies, resolves performance variances, generates reports, troubleshoots register problems and posts menus; maintains a clean, orderly and well stocked work station; performs sanitation duties throughout the retail food court, serves at steam table and provides customer service from the grill location; assists with maintenance of front of the house by stocking supplies, cleaning spills, removing garbage and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Strong background in math.  One year work experience in Dietary Services preferred.

Work Schedule - Varied Shifts PRN

(EVS): ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TECH: (FULL-TIME): ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

Position Summary - The EVS Tech performs cleaning and trash removal functions, carpet and hard surface maintenace, in all areas of the hospital on a routine and project basis; will maintain equipment in clean working condition, demonstrates knowledge of the proper use of chemicals and other supplies; will be responible for moving furniture and equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers/shampooers, aides carts and be exposed to various types of chemicals.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.  One year previous work experience required; previous experience in housekeeping preferred.
