NURSING SERVICES

 

(NUR ADM-PTCARESUP): PATIENT CARE SUPERVISOR RN: (PRN): NURSING ADMINISTRATION

Position Summary - The Patient Care Supervisor RN is responsible for each scheduled shift for managing and guiding activities of the hospital including but not limited to: staff, environment and patients.

Qualifications -Graduate of a recognized RN program with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing preferred.  Two to five years nursing experience with demonstrated leadership.  Current MS RN license and ACLS certification.

Work Schedule -  PRN varied shifts 

(OB-RN): REGISTERED NURSE: (PRN): OBSTETRICS

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, ACLS and NALS certifications required within six months of employment.  PRN candidates must have one year OB experience.

Work Schedule - Varied shifts PRN

(NUR): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME): OBSTETRICS

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, ACLS and NALS certifications required within six months of employment.

 Work Schedule - 7p-7a Full-Time

(ER-RN): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME/PRN): EMERGENCY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, ACLS certification, TNCC preferred. Minimum one year ER experience preferred.

Work Schedule -  7a-7p & 9a-9p Full-Time and PRN varied shifts

(MED-SURG): REGISTERED NURSE: (PRN): MEDICAL SURGICAL SERVICES

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment/reassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care for a described group of patients. Assist physicians in the planning, management, delivery and evaluation of care. Supervises and is accountable for care given by other staff members.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, ACLS certification. Minimum one year experience preferred.

Work Schedule -  PRN 7a-7p/Varied Shifts

(GPU): REGISTERED NURSE: (FULL-TIME): GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU) 

Position Summary - The Registered Nurse provides nursing knowledge and skills to assess and monitor patient's physical/mental status and educates patients and/or family/caregivers as needed.  RN will communicate with patient's physicians as needed based on patient assessement and treatment plan.  RN will assist as directed by LCSW in providing therapeutic groups for GPU patients as clinically appropriate.  RN will also assist in program management responsibilities as directed by the Director.

Qualifications - Current MS RN license, BSN degree or experienced RN in mental health with ADN degree and current CPR certification.  Two years work experience in mental health and working knowledge of federal/state regulatory standards regarding mental health services.

Work Schedule - 7p-7a Full-Time

(GPU): LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE: (FULL-TIME): GERIATRIC PYSCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU)

Position Summary - The LPN performs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and is delegated an assignment by him/her to achieve quality patient care.  The LPN shall assist the RN in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct patient care as evidenced, but not limited to, patient care documentation, direct observation, and patient evaluations.  The LPN is responsible and accountable to the Director of the Unit. 

Qualifications -  Graduate of a recognized non-on line LPN program.  Work experience preferred.  Current MS LPN license and BCLS certification.

Work Schedule - 7p-7a Full-Time

 

CLINICAL SUPPORT SERVICES

 

(MS-ACT):ACUTE CARE TECH: (PRN): MEDICAL SURGICAL

Position Summary - The Acute Care Tech is responsible for providing personal care to patients under the supervision of nursing staff.  Participates in support functions of the nursing unit, i.e., answering phones, running errands, transporting patients.  Must attain/maintain skills applicable to primary area of assignment.

Qualifications -  High school diploma or GED equivalent, college courses preferred.  One year Acute Care Tech experience in an acute care or clinic setting preferred.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - Varied Shifts PRN/7p-7a PRN

(ICU): MONITOR TECH: (FULL-TIME): INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

Position Summary - The Monitor Tech performs under the direct supervision of the RN in ICU and is delegated assignments to achieve quality patient care; is involved in the implementation phase of the nursing process and is directly accountable to the Patient Care Director of the unit.  The Tech performs tasks assigned by the RN in an assistant role; these tasks require special training and competency validation through the education department.  In addition, the Tech must be able to perform nurse aide duties if the RN dictates.

Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Must be a certified Monitor Tech.  Previous nurse aide or acute care tech experience.  Must pass a monitor skills test.  BCLS, and basic coronary care certification required.

Work Schedule - 7a-7p full-time

(LAB-MT-PRN): MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST: (PRN): LABORATORY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing and reporting accurate test results according to lab policy and procedures; maintains and complies with QC Westgard Rules; provides proper documentation of any deviation; performs phlebotomies as needed; participates in inventory availability and control; performs all routine and stat procedures within designated time period according to lab policy and procedures; complies with all specimen labeling requirements; generates and delivers lab reports, troubleshoots instrument or procedure failures to resolution including reporting and documenting failures; completes all daily, weekly, monthly maintenance on all instrumentation as required.

Qualifications - Associates Degree, Medical  Technologist.  Minimum one year experience as a Med Tech.  Current ASCP or equivalent license.  Current CPR certification.

Work Schedule - Varied Shifts PRN

(CAT SCAN): CAT SCAN TECH: (PRN): IMAGING: CAT SCAN

Position Summary - The Cat Scan Tech performs patient examinations and related activities; demonstrates knowledge of digital environment; reviews images prior to archiving to PACS and for submission to radiologists for interpretation, maintains patient records; completes associated paperwork, performs QA/QC on equipment as needed.  Stocks exam rooms with basic supplies, starts IV's and/or administers contrast as needed.

Qualifications - Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology required.  One year preferred as a staff technologist required.  CT scanning experience preferred.  Registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.  Certified in CT preferred.  CPR required.  Mississippi licensure is required.

(LAB): PHLEBOTOMIST: (FULL-TIME): LABORATORY SERVICES

Position Summary - The Phlebotomist is responsible for receiving and processing all patient paperwork, collection of specimens, removing reports from printers, sorts, files, delivers reports, distribution of charges, prepares lab specimens and requisitions for referral testing; assist physicians, nursing staff and other lab personnel with any problems/concerns that might arise regarding results, paperwork, response times or overdue lab results.

Qualifications - High School Diploma and two years experience in Phlebotomy, certification preferred.

Work Schedule - Days, Full-Time

(CARDIO): LEAD TECH: (PRN): CARDIOLOGY

Position Summary - The Lead Tech performs a variety of duties in the Cardiology Department including but not limited to: preparation of patients, QA/QC as required, recording and acrchiving; operation of various types of equipment (Echo, TEE, stress, EKG, EEG); development of tapes, CD's for productions of high quality diagnostic images.

Qualifications - High School Diploma, college preferred.  Must be certified by a 15 week or greater Echocardiography Training Course of equivalent job experience.  Must be strong in U/S anotomy and physiology.  Must be registry eligible with ARDMS and work towards obtaining registry.  Prefer at least three years experience as an Echocardiography Technologist.  Current Echo certication and CPR certification.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 

 

(HOSP-PHYS): PHYSICIAN: (FULL-TIME): HOSPITALIST

Position Summary - The Hospitalist is responsible for performing histories, physicals and patient care on patients admitted to the hospital; is a member of the hospital active medical staff.

Qualifications - Graduate of approved medical school, current MS medical license, ACLS certification. 

Work Schedule - Days plus call

(GPU): LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER (LCSW): (PART-TIME): GERIATRIC PYSCHIATRIC UNIT (GPU)

Position Summary - The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) under the direction of the program psychiatrist provides pyschological assessments of patients and families to identify emotional, social and environmental strengths and problems related to their diagnosis, illness, treatment, and/or life situation.

Qualifications - Master or Doctor Degree in Social Work, licensed or certified as a clinical social worker by the State of Mississippi and have performed at least two years of supervised clinical social work.

Work Schedule - Days Part-Time

(ADMIT): REGISTRAR: (PRN): ADMITTING

Position Summary - The Registrar is responsible for performing patient interviews to obtain current, correct information for accuracy in data entry; explain hospital policies regarding co-pays, insurance deductibles, and self pay accounts; collects necessary payments and obtains the patient's signature on all relevant forms.  Assigns the patient to the designated room in conjunction with the nursing staff based on the nature of the illness and type of accomodations needed.

Qualifications - High School Diploma, college courses preferred.  At least six months experience in admitting preferred.  Excellent communication, computer and office machine skills.
